DIMA 2.0: Developing Strategies for Adult Education Providers and Adult Educators
Project Overview
Building on the existing knowledge developed by partners, the DIMA 2.0 project aims at supporting the professional development of Adult education providers to improve and extend the supply of high quality learning opportunities tailored to the needs of low-skilled and low qualified individuals, aligned with the needs of the countries of the consortium’s participating organizations. The primary target groups for this project include: Adult education providers, adult educators working with low-skilled/ low qualified adult learners, and adult learners.

Centre for Advancement of Research and Development in Educational Technology - (CARDET)
CARDET (Centre for Advancement of Research and Development in Educational Technology) an independent, non-profit, non-governmental, research and development organization based in Cyprus. It is one of the leading research and development centres in the Euro-Mediterranean region, with global expertise in project design and implementation, capacity building, and e-learning. CARDET is independently affiliated with universities and institutions from around the world, such as the Yale University, the University of Nicosia and the International Council of Educational Media. CARDET has completed numerous projects relating to the development of capacity building and planning in education and VET, youth support, adult learning, literacies, digital tools, eLearning, educational technology, and social integration of marginalized groups.

Ministry of Education and Culture, Cyprus
The Lifelong Learning and Adult Education Unit was established within the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports and Youth (MoECSY) in September 2019. Through the Unit's actions, the MoECSY aims to better respond both to the World Bank's recommendations and the challenges related to the promotion of lifelong learning and adult education in Cyprus.
The main areas of responsibility for the Unit include the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the new Lifelong Learning Strategy for 2021-2027 period.
The Unit monitors European and international policies on Adult Education in order to utilize best practices and tools. At the same time, it manages projects funded under the Erasmus+ Programme, such as the European Agenda for Adult Learning, aiming to strengthen and further improve national policies, strategic objectives and needs.
A key aim of the MoECYS is to improve the quality and effectiveness of the lifelong learning and adult education programmes organized, operated and implemented by the relevant Departments and Services of its auspices. In this context, the Unit works closely with the responsible Departments shaping the educational context of the provided programmes. In addition, further cooperation and synergies between services and bodies providing adult education and training is sought. Greater importance will be given to adults who face challenges in their participation to ensure equitable access in education and training.

EAEA is a European NGO, with 133 member organisations in 43 countries and represents more than 60 million learners Europe-wide, whose purpose is to link and represent European organisations directly involved in adult learning. EAEA was founded in 1953 by representatives from a number of European countries. EAEA promotes adult learning and access to and participation in non-formal adult education for all, particularly for groups currently under-represented.
